Overview

Aloha Permits ("the App") is a free, ad-supported study tool for the Hawaii DMV written test. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Data Stored on Your Device Only

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server:

• Study progress — question attempts, scores, streaks, and mock exam results
• Bookmarks and preferences — saved questions, theme settings, and app preferences
• Spaced repetition data — review schedules and mastery levels

This data is managed by Apple's SwiftData framework and remains entirely on your device. If you delete the App, this data is deleted.

AI Features

The App uses Apple's on-device AI (Apple Intelligence) to generate explanations and assessments. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No questions, answers, or study data are sent to external AI services.

Advertising

The App displays interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect certain data to serve ads, including:

• Advertising identifiers (IDFA, if you grant permission)
• General device information (device model, OS version)
• General location data (IP-based, not precise GPS)
• App usage data (ad interaction, impressions)

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to or control over the personal data Google collects through ads.

• We do not require an account or login
• We do not collect your name, email, or contact information
• We do not collect precise location data
• We do not sell any personal data
• We do not send your study data to any server

Your Choices

• Ad tracking: You can limit ad personalization through your device settings at Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. If you decline tracking, you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant.
• Delete your data: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App's ad configuration uses non-personalized ads where required by applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
